Description
This aluminum handguard can be run as a full replacement, or just used as a lower handguard where the operator does not have a need to utilize anything on the top rail.
The lower handguard contains 3 slots of MLOK at the 3, and 9 o’clock positions, and 1913 rail on the bottom for the mounting of weapon lights, foregrips, handstops, etc. It also has four threaded holes located on the rear for the mounting of future above-receiver mounting solutions.
The upper handguard has 8 inches of zero-holding picatinny, ideal for mounting optics, and lasers. Removing the upper handguard requires removing four countersunk screws, this must be done for cleaning but shows significant repeatability upon re-installation.
The Gen 2.5 differs from the Gen 2 in that it has 1913 on the bottom instead of mlok, and has more lightning cuts, making it 45g lighter despite the addition of more material for the bottom rail. They also serve as an aesthetic boost for those who prefer this look.
